CRESCENDO

Crescendo is a piece I completed a few years ago for the MTA Arts For Transit with Franz Mayer of Munich. They are quite an incredible outfit. You should check out their web site at http://www.mayer-of-munich.com/.   It won a Brooklyn Building award in 2008.

This is located at the 105th Street subway station on the L line. I created a few ink sketches at first and a painting. I blew this up to a template that allowed me to re-draw it at half scale. I flew to Munich and worked using this template with the artists at Franz Mayer of Munich (who really did the glass work). It was a lot of fun and I cannot wait to do another.

The 105th Street subway station (which is on the L line) was just renovated and the artwork was to be installed in a preexisting aluminum grid.
